Computer Blues

Best Buy called me to come pick up my computer on Sunday. I assumed it was fixed and was happy to get it back so quick..........But that was not the case...Actually they wanted approval to fix it to the tune of 697.00.....Whoa Nelly, I can buy a new one for that kinda bread, so I did. Then they told they could transfer all my files for 159.00. Nope, Thanks, I'll do it myself. After two days I'm getting close to it working like my old one although Vista drives me nut's. But there's still a lot of stuff on he old one I haven't figured out how to move yet.. Like my new book I'm working on. Oh well hopefully the old computer will hold up long enough for me to finish it.

Kellies BB Game

 

Another packed house at the Lincoln Gym saw the Cobras run their pre-season record to 2-0.
Kellie Cronin led the way scoring 10 points despite injuring her hand late in the contest. Next up on the agenda are the Kentwood Hawk's at Legacy Middle on Feb 2nd. This game should be a barn-burner. A number of famous GVSU women athletes were seen at this game taking in the sights.

OMG......OMG

Today was the perfect storm as you can see from the Cronin family photo were all very depressed ,,,,,,,Well maybe not Kate,, Anyway when I woke up this morning I turned on my old IPOD which contains my entire Itunes library, The next thing I saw was the dreaded screen showing the ipod had crashed, Well after several attempts at resetting the HD. I finally banged it on my desk. This is always a sure fix and by golly it worked this time as well. I put the ipod in the charger and headed to my PC, Last night I noticed the fan was grinding and the CPU usage was skyrocketing. Oh NO!!!! Well when I tried to enter my PC shut down finally screwing up my itunes short cut.So I reinstalled itunes,and tried it again no luck computer shut down, started up again and while I was distracted it went into chkdisk. I saw a number of bad files were removed in itunes according to the screen. OMG ,,,,OMG. SO it looks like the PC is going into Best Buy for repair.

Just got back from Best Buy, they can't fix it instore and will have to ship it out. 85.00 to start, plus a minimum of 108.00 for labor then of course parts. It could take 5 weeks to fix. Maybe I should have just bought a new PC. Time will tell, and what will my itunes library look like. Thank God I have my MacBook.

The Ultimate Stereo System

  After looking at my "Picture of the Week", I found this picture of my first Stereo System. The heart of this system was a turntable/record player my parents received when they ordered the Encylopedia Brittanica. Even though this system had minimum amplification the sound was fantastic due to the placement of speakers and the ultra comfortable stereo listening chair. Also adding to the sound quality was a Carlings Black Label or perhaps some Sloe Gin and Seven Up. Special lighting was also used to highlight the listening experience. Many times I would pick up my guitar and strum a few riffs of Led Zeppellin or the Stones. I can remember many nights while lost in my music, I would grab a book from my library and just read til early in morning or maybe draw a picture to hang on the wall.You just can't find systems like this anymore! Speaking of music I added a little music to my Blog ........Hope you like it. I hope to change it based on what I'm listening to at the time.

Back To Work

Yep.......The Holiday's are over and tommorrow is Monday. I thought I'd try on my work clothes and see if they still fit. Everything seeems fine.....The Bow Ties great and the pants are a little short but what the heck. It will be great to get back into the grind. Spring can't be to far away....Can It ?
